Not a Math Person

Privacy

Not a Math Person is an app for practicing mental math. What you do in it stays on your iPhone.

What is kept, and where

Your progress: the skills you have practiced, how your answers went, your streak, your points and your settings. It is kept on your iPhone, inside the app. It is not sent to us, or to anyone.

It goes into your iPhone’s own backup, if you keep one, along with everything else on the phone.

No account

There is nothing to sign up for. The app never asks who you are.

No ads, no tracking

The app shows no ads. It does not follow what you do, here or in any other app, and it has no code in it from advertising or analytics companies.

It connects to nothing on the internet, apart from Apple’s App Store when you buy or restore the full app.

Buying the full app

The full app is bought through Apple, with your Apple Account. Apple takes the payment and keeps the record of it. The app is told one thing only: whether the full app is yours. It never sees your name, your card or your Apple Account.

What the app cannot reach

It does not use the camera, the microphone, your location or your contacts.

It cannot look at your photos. If you choose to save a result as a picture, the iPhone asks you first, and the app can then add that picture and nothing more.

Reminders

If you turn on the daily reminder, it is set on the iPhone itself. Nothing is sent to your phone from anywhere else.

What you choose to send

A result you share, or a challenge code you send to a friend, goes only where you send it. A challenge code holds which ten questions were set and, once you have played them, your score and your time. Nothing else.

Children

Not a Math Person is written for adults. It keeps nothing about anyone who uses it, whatever their age.

Getting rid of it

Settings has a button that erases your progress.

Deleting the app deletes everything it has kept on the phone.

This website

These pages use no cookies and no analytics, and they load nothing from anyone else. Like any website, the company that hosts it can see the internet address a visitor connects from.

If this changes

If the app ever starts keeping anything about you, this page will say so first.
